Hope Crossing: The Complete Ada's House Trilogy, includes The Hope of Refuge, The Bridge of Peace, and The Harvest of Grace (An Ada's House Novel) by Cindy Woodsmall

The Hope of Refuge
Two very different women are pulled by their strongest desires. Deborah Mast joined the Amish church and longs to marry her fiancĂ©, but he is changing. Cara Moore is forced to look into a life that was meant to be hers. Will Ada’s House help them realize their hearts’ desires or will it force them to accept what life has done to each of them?

The Bridge of Peace
Living out her passion for teaching, Lena Kauffman’s work is suddenly interrupted by a series of pranks and accidents targeted toward her and her students. When tragedy strikes her dear friend Grey Graber’s family on school property, the school board begins to blame her for the trouble. As grief and confusion take their toll on Grey and Lena’s friendship, they are both forced to face a new reality that may offer the peace and love they each long for.

The Harvest of Grace
Fleeing a terrible mistake, Sylvia Fisher dedicates herself to saving the failing Blank farm. When prodigal son Aaron returns, he is surprised by this unusual farmhand who opposes all his plans. Will Aaron and Sylvia’s unflinching efforts toward opposite futures mask the bigger picture—a path to forgiveness, grace, and the promise of love?

This three-in-one collection includes the entirety of the best-selling Ada’s House trilogy, now at a new low price!
Having never read any of the Ada's House books, this trilogy was a complete joy to read. Each story centers around the Old Order Amish community of Hope Crossing. The center of this community is Ada's House and it plays a pivotal point in each of the stories. While each story stands alone there is a thread of continuity that weaves the three novels together. Each book has different main characters but in the subsequent stories the main characters become background figures so you get a glimpse at what has been going on with them since you left them.  I got this book and read it quickly though it is quite large,1026 pages large. Ms Woodsmall as always though tells a story as no one else can and easily holds the reader's interest. I would recommend this book for reading for anyone who loves Amish love stories.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful New Year!

Today is National Simplicity Day. Simplicity Day is a reminder to look for opportunities to simplify our lives and enjoy the stress-reducing pleasures of a simple lifestyle. Hubby and I are each day looking for new ways to simpilify our lives. We have so much junk and clutter, that is is sometimes overwhelming. He doesn't like to throw anything away.
We are not hoarders by any means but just have too much junk. Going through and de-cluttering a drawer, closet at a time.
Been sitting on the porch most of the morning. Hubby is off today and he wants a lazy day, so that is what we are doing- being lazy. It's actually kind of nice. Our guest is still here, but he is off with his friends today. Just a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Hope you are having a marvelous Saturday!

My girls sharing a slushie yesterday.

Thur and Fri

Yesterday was a very busy day. I had my nurse, caretaker, and physical therapist all come in one day. Then I spent time outside with the neighbor ladies, and helped hubby cook dinner. Even though it was busy, it was great fun with the ladies. Also talked to my sons which always makes me happy.

Going to be lazy today after my exercises and short walk. Have a lot of emails to write and some computer things to catch up on. Made a tomato and cucumber salad last night for today's lunch. Tried a bite...yummy!

Today is

Tomorrow is grocery day. Going through all my recipes and see if I can change them to sugar free as well as maybe try a few new ones. Same as with Santa, I'm making a list and checking it twice, lol.

Have a great Friday!!!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Hope you all had a great weekend. We have a guest staying with us right now. He is a friend who moved to Little Rock several months ago to take care of his 94 yr old aunt. She passed so he has moved back, but his apt won't be ready til Friday. Nice to have company.

Still trying to figure out the diet with the diabetes. Geez, almost Everything has sugar in it. But we are working it out. Had Ms Bee's roasted veges twice this week, and they are oh so yummy!

Rainy day here in Arkansas. Not complaining though, it makes the temps cooler for a while. Mosquitoes are eating us alive this year. All the town folks say they have never seen them so bad.

Have an amazing Wednesday!!!!

Why I love Wednesdays

I love Wednesdays because :

It is hubby's half day at work, so he gets home early.

It is the one day a week we cook together.

I weigh on Wednesday (now a good thing).

Nurse comes, Physical therapy comes, caretaker comes. (Get it all done in one day).

Wednesday is "change the sheets" day at our house. I LOVE fresh sheets on the bed. It is one of my tiny pleasures.

It is only two days til payday again, lol.

I love the hump day camel stuff!

Isn't Wednesday just a GREAT day to be alive?

Why do you love Wednesdays?

Terrific Tuesday

Asked ex hubby who is a big time golfer to save me some golf balls. Not exaggerating, he must have over a thousand in a huge box in his garage. Working on these today for my back porch.

Hope they turn out like the photos. Found it on Pinterest.

Have an amazing day!

What a beautiful morning! I started by having my iced tea on the front porch (no I am not a coffee drinker). Sun is up for the first time in days. We have had flooding rains all around us for days. (photos at end of post).
I've really missed blogging, but my blog has never been what I wanted it to be, and I feel like all I did was complain, but I had no one else to complain to. Anyway, it took me a while to decide that just doesn't matter. I still stalked your pages, lol.
Health update- They discovered I have Type 2 Diabetes. It was great that they found it, as I am now actually losing weight (slowly but it will happen), and I feel much better with the new meds. Also learning how to eat a whole new way is actually a challenge and a bit fun. A lot has changed. I have decided to live my life, fat or not. For too many years I sat and waited to be thin (expecting a miracle I guess) without actually living. Well, I am now doing things more and getting out a lot more.
Hubby is off today, yay! Running errands, going to the grocery, and then getting my greyish hair colored. I always feel better without the grey. When we get home though, it becomes laundry day. Fun stuff! lol
See ya tomorrow.
