Romance?

Karl and Milly were lying in bed one night. Carl was falling asleep but Milly was in a romantic mood and wanted to talk. She said, "You used to hold my hand when we were courting."

Wearily Karl reached across, held her hand for a second, and rolled over to try to fall asleep.

A few moments later she said, "Then you used to kiss me."

Mildly irritated, he leaned across, gave her a peck on the cheek and settled back down to sleep.

Thirty seconds later she said, "Then you used to bite my neck."

Angrily, he threw back the bed clothes and got out of bed.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"To the bathroom to get my teeth," he replied.

Grandma's Visit


"Oh, I sure am glad to see you," the little boy said to his grandmother (on his mother's side). "Now Daddy will do the trick he's been promising us."

The grandmother was curious. "What trick is that?" she asked.

"He told Mommy that he'd climb the walls if you came to visit," answered the boy.

Saw this on a how to site a long time ago and love it.

metal saw
A light bulb
2 screwdrivers (small and large)
A round file
Metal wire (beading or fishing wire should work)

1. Saw the base of the screw cap with a metal saw, turning the bulb regularly, so you remove the electrical contact part.

2. Once the base of the screw cap is cut, insert a screwdriver and break the glass tube that sticks out (be careful).

3. Then, place a larger screwdriver in the cavity of glass, pushing down firmly, so the filament is separated from the bulb.

4. With a round file, enlarge the opening and take out the filament. The bulb should be empty now.

5. To create suspended vases, drill two holes by hand on both sides of the screw cap with a drill bit. The aluminum should pierce easily.

6. Slip metal wire (or fishing wire) through the holes that you punched and tie a knot on each side (like a purse strap).

7. Then suspend the vase from a hook, or wherever you like.

8. Put a little water in the bulb and then some flowers

Is there a parent alive who has not made mistakes? It’s time to let Mom and Dad down off the wedding cake and into the world of mere humans.

I forgive my Mom for keeping the secret that I had a sister until my Mom passed away. That is when the unexplained year in her life was revealed. I only wish she felt she could have told me. And Yes, I have met my sister and it is like we were never apart.

I find it hard to forgive my Dad for being a dunk, but I do. I realize he was an alcoholic and that was his disease. It finally killed him.

I love you, Mama and Daddy, and will see you again someday.

Today is Girls Write Now Day!

Girls Write Now Day was established in conjunction with International Working Women Day to encourage girls around the world to express themselves through the power of the pen. It is hoped that through this creative movement, girls everywhere will be celebrated for the unique and wonderful individuals they are; and to help them understand that their voice, whether written or spoken, holds power and significance.


SO does your daughter or granddaughter keep a journal? My oldest granddaughter Kelsi is 14 and keeps a diary. Her sister Kenzie is 10 and maybe it's time I bought her a journal and fancy pen to start jotting down her own thoughts.

Today is National Oreo Day so here is our fave Oreo recipe to share.

OREO DIRT CAKE
Printed from COOKS.COM

1 lg. pkg. Oreos
1 sm. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix (prepare as directed)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 (12 oz.) tubs Cool Whip
1/2 c. butter, melted

Crush Oreos into fine bits. Reserve one cup and put aside. Mix the remaining Oreos with 1/2 cup melted butter and press into bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix cream cheese with one tub of Cool Whip and spread over Oreo layer. Spread prepared chocolate pudding over cream cheese layer. Top with 1 tub of Cool Whip. Sprinkle top with reserved cup of crushed Oreos. Refrigerate until serving.
