I luv Posicles

These easy peasy popsicles are bursting with fruity yumminess - All you have to do is pour some Capri Sun (whatever flavor you like best) into a popsicle mold, then add your favorite cut up fresh fruit then freeze!
I saw this on Pinterest and they are now in my freezer. I used Strawberry Kiwi flavored Caprison (the WalMart brand.

Just another day in the neighborhood

Neighbors - When you live in a tiny town with nowhere to go, this is what you do. Sit around and chat. I honestly don't know the new neighbor's name on the left. Then we have Barb, Ms Sis and Pam who is not only my friend but also my landlord.

This is Pam and her daughter Heaven.

Did you get to see the Super moon? Here is the best out of the pictures I took of it.

Meet Rocksy. Excuse her dirty headband, but we had been walking and she gets really sweaty, being a rock and all.

Awww Mondays #186

I love the colorings on this kitten. Awww, I want her.

How was your weekend?

This past week has been all of my emotions tied up in one- from super depressed to happy to sad to just feeling like crap about myself. Doctor changed my anti depression meds, and it made me CRAZY!!! One of those crazy weeks!

1. Started with Father's Day- got to really missing my granddad who raised me, and that led to missing my mom, which led to tears.

2. My neighbor's little girl Heaven turned 3 and I completely forgot it. Not good, because she even calls me Aunt Sandy.

3. Got our new fishing license for AR. Good thing! We love to fish.

4. My sister is coming to visit in August for 4 days. Good thing. She lives in CA.

5. Hubby made me very angry, which seldom ever happens. Ugh, MEN, sometimes I swear.... Not good! (all better now of course)

6. My other neighbor Ms Bea turned 72, I forgot. Not Good!

7. I cancelled my caretaker for the whole week. (Shouldn't have)

8. Stuck to my diet, GOOD!

9. Gave myself a "pamper me" day on Saturday. It was much needed and I feel so much better now.

10. Starting all over again tomorrow with a better week and a better me.

Back on my regular meds again. All is right with the world. And the things that are not, well, I can't fix everything, though I wish I could. Too old to be super woman anymore.

So how was your week and weekend?

Thursday Tips

If you wrap your celery in tin foil before placing it in the fridge it will last for weeks, and it will still be fresh and crisp when you pull it out! This also works for stored broccoli for 7 weeks wrapped in tin foil.

************************
For clearer skin: take a half lemon from the fridge (doesn’t matter if some juice is already squeezed from it) and put 3-4 drops of honey on it. Rub the lemon on your face, emphasizing trouble areas. Leave the lemon and honey mixture on your face for 5 minutes and then wash it with cold water. You will be able to see the results immediately. Additionally, lemon juice will also fade other marks/spots on the face and honey will moisturize.

This trick of putting a paper towel in with your salad lettuce will keep it fresh all week long. The paper towel will absorb the moisture, which is the culprit for wilting lettuce. THIS WORKS!
*********************

I have tried each one of these and they DO work. But with my salad mixes and lettuce, I transfer them to a large Ziploc bag and add a folded paper towel in with it. Been doing that for years and it makes it last so much longer.

Got any tips to share?

Have a great Thursday!!!!

Fresh Veggies

First of all-

to all you Dad's out there.

***************

Today is Fresh Veggies Day.

Fresh vegetables are far better tasting than canned or frozen vegetables. They are also healthy and highly nutritious. This makes it easy to add fresh vegetables to the menu at every meal, and for snacking. This time of year, there are plenty of fresh vegetables at your local grocery store, or in your backyard vegetable garden.

I challenge all my friends to Be A Vegetarian For A Day one day this week, and then post about it.
Have a healthy day and even healthier week!

Smiley Saturday

Today is National Smile Power Day! Feel the power. Give everyone you see today a big, friendly smile. You never know, you're smile just might turn someone's day right around...for the good!

A smile is so powerful, that it can:
  • Add years to your life
  • Make you a happier person
  • Make someone else a happier person
  • It's a mood change for the giver and the receiver
  • Improves relationships
  • In business, it sends a great customer service message
and it takes lots less muscles to smile than to frown.

++++++++++++++++++
Got this today- this makes me SMILE.
I told my DIL it is probably the best pic she's taken, because it shows everyone just as they are- even Bama the dog.
From L to R= Kelsi (17), Lily (7), Daddy (my son Dennis), Maddie (4), and Kenzie (13).

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY and SMILE!!!!!

Getting away from the Internet......

I had NO internet service service from yesterday morning til late this afternoon. I was upset about it yesterday, but got a lot done done today because of it. I organized my entire desk area, which was in a mess of disarray. I am also a note jotter. I am bad about numbers or addresses or websites on a little piece of paper, and never adding them where they should go. Got all that done today. So a day with no internet was a blessing today.

In God's Time-

This is Ms Sis ( I honestly don't know her real name, because that is what everyone calls her). She lives near me in the apt complex. She is almost 90 and has been told by doctors every year, at least twice a year, for almost 4 years that she would not live six more months. She sit on her porch (weather permitting) every day. She wears oxygen 24/7. She says she sits outside talking to God and waiting. I think that is so sad, but she seems to be a happy lady. Just wanted to introduce her to you all, and she is again proof that we won't go til it's our time, no matter what the doctor's say. If you are a praying person, please say a little prayer for Ms Sis. She is a good woman.

Petro Neagu of The Seaman Mom has a meme called Smile with us on Mondays. Here's her simple rules:

Link up any post that makes you or someone else smile, anything that brings a ray of sunshine on dark days. Link up your hops if you'd like, I love to meet new people and read their blogs. The more people we get together the merrier the party, right?

I know everyone has their own idea of cute stuff...but This is What Makes Me SMILE:

and a little of this........

and some of this.......

and back to this.

Have an amazing Monday!

Happy Sunday

You know, the ONLY thing I miss about my first marriage is my house. Ever since I've lived in apartments. If I still had a house, I would have this built in my backyard. I would love a big dream backyard.
But I don't, so I won't. Just day dreaming. But I love swings and these around a fire pit would just be awesome to me.

a funny I saw on Facebook

Lawyers should never ask a Georgia grandma a question if they aren't
prepared for the answer.
In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first
witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her
and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do
know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly,
you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife,
and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You
think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never
amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across
the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'
She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't
build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the
worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three
different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very
quiet voice, said,
'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the
electric chair.
