The journey

Just found a great new meme. It is from Bifocal Univision (Eric Alder's blog). He posts a new photo each week and you write something about it on your own blog. Anyway, here is my first one.


The Beginning of the Journey

I'm starting this journey of mine, I can see far ahead, to a better dream and a better land.
The tracks will be bumpy, and I see stops and hurdles along the way,
But that's alright, because at the end of the tracks, I see for me a new day.

Yesterday my oldest granddaughter Kelsi turned 17. Wow, it's hard to believe. She is such a smart and pretty young woman.

 

It has been so gloomy here for days. Raining again today with at least 2 more days of clouds, then more rain. I cannot wait for Spring!!! and flip flops, and shorts, and being outside more.

 

Nothing new going on around here. I've been journaling lots more. Memories are wonderful things to share. I try to write in each of the grandkids journals every day, but that doesn't happen often, lol. As you already know, I am a procrastinator. But I have one for each girl. I need to get a pretty blue one for when Conner gets here in May. Going tomorrow to get yarn to start his blanket.

It has been just an ok week at my house. Boring! Took Dexter to get his shots on Thursday, Spent most of Friday helping our friend Jerry get his broken car fixed. It's still in the shop. Wished all week that I was anywhere but here, missing my family terribly. Woke up this morning to thunderstorms with Lots of rain. You could float a rowboat in the ditch in my backyard. lol

 

Did have some great minutes though, those are the best.

Got a big package full of clothes in the mail from a dear friend. They all fit!

Hubby brought me a little teeny bear with a heart that says I love you attached to a fake rose (felt I think).

Spa day was amazing!!!

 

My caretaker has been very disappointing the past two weeks.  She shows up only when she wants to now. Last week was 2 days instead of 5.

 

Decided to do the crockpot thing Barb at The Daily G's is doing. She got it here at The Six Sisters blog. They are making 8 freezer meals for the crockpot and cooking one a day. So I only like 5 of the maeals, so I am making those 5 and freezing them for next week.  Slow Cooker BBQ Spareribs, Chicken Cacciatore, Hearty Beef Stew, French Dip Sandwiches,and Black Bean Taco Soup.

Just woke up to a very Foggy morning. This is outside my front door.  But that is ok. Spa day is about to begin. :)

At the Park

This was taken yesterday at the park near where my grand babies live. Maddie on left is 4 and Lily is 6. They enjoy going to feed the ducks.

 

I woke up to a phone call from my doctor's nurse telling me not to come today, that he had an emergency. So I don't go til next Monday. A whole week of waiting. I'll be loony by then. lol

It feels so cold in the house this morning. It's 45 outside, but feels like 35 in here. Stupid government heat! lol

 

Giving myself a spa day tomorrow, with hubby's help. Shower, hair color, toes and fingers (nails), a good foot soak, facial, the whole package. Haven't done one in a while, and I deserve it. Looking very forward to tomorrow. Will take some photos.

 

 

Saw this on Pinterest and it hit me. I need to remember and practice this daily. Only we can finish our own stories. That is why I am trying to change mine.

I'm back

Sorry I've been absent. Just feeling the blahs. I have a lump that has turned up on my scar above my liver. It started as the size of a pea and is now the size of a golf ball. and it Hurts! and I'm scared! I go to the liver doctor on Monday. Please pray that it is something minor.

Kaysen had her 3rd birthday party yesterday. She refused to smile for pictures. They did it in the community center at their church so they could add a bouncy house inside on a cold day. I was told everyone had a great time. Another reason I've had the blah's is I couldn't go. Hubby couldn't get off work. Her actual birthday is Tuesday the 5th. I always feel so left out of my kids and grand kids lives. I never wanted to be that grandma that sent presents and you only saw twice a year. But I am.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. Hubby is for Baltimore.  I could really care less.

 

Good Morning!

For the 1st time in what seems like a long time, I actually feel good this morning. The nasty headache is finally gone, and so is the cough (knock on wood). Hoping none of you are sick. It seems to be running rampant almost everywhere.

Hubby and I are starting our 'once a month date' again. We were going to start this month, but he was already ill, and then I got it, so that was that. We live in the middle of Memphis and Little Rock. It is exactly the same mileage either way (minus 1 mile). When we first moved here to AR, we would go to Little Rock one month, and to Memphis the next month.  We eat out, and shop or go to a movie, or both. On Feb 2, next Saturday we are heading to Memphis for breakfast. I follow  a blogger who lives there and reviews local eateries on her blog every week. So we are going to eat breakfast at a whole in the wall called Bryant's. (http://bryantsmemphis.com/ ) They are famous for breakfast and that is all they serve. Can't wait. I am the type person that I need something to look forward to.

A big Thanks to Sandee for the three books she sent me to read. I haven't started because I haven't felt like reading, but am going to read the first one today. Looking forward to it!




My son's church did a video advertisement for craft night to go on their you tube page. My son's family was chosen to do it. Here they are with all 4 girls. From left to right- Kelsi, Kenzie, Dennis, Regina, Lily and Maddie. LOVE it!!!!!

A Little Better

HI, I'm a little better today. Of course it's 7am and I haven't been to bed yet, lol, but I slept almost all day yesterday. Still coughing, but no fever this morning.

 

I hit a milestone this morning. I've not been as serious as I should be about my diet, but have been working hard on it this week. I am NO LONGER over 300 pounds, and NEVER WILL BE AGAIN!!!!!!! My next goal is 289.

Crud

I've been attacked by the crud, or whatever Robert has had all week. Fever hit 102 last night. I hate being sick. Bed is the best place for me. Wil try to post tomorrow. :(
